Whipd is built for making new friends and good vibes. Because Whipd includes user-generated content (UGC) like profiles, photos, and chat messages, safety is a core part of the product. This page explains our rules, how moderation works, and how you can stay safe.
Age Requirements
- You must be 13 years or older to use Whipd. In some regions, higher minimum ages may apply due to local laws (for example, certain jurisdictions such as Australia may require users to be older).
- We do not allow adult content on Whipd.
- Accounts that appear to be under the minimum age may be suspended and required to verify age, or removed.
We continually adopt new safety technologies as they become available. This may include platform-level age and identity verification tools (such as Apple’s Declared Age Range API and similar regional compliance systems) to help ensure users meet applicable age requirements.
Whipd separates users into age groups (minors and adults) to apply appropriate safety rules. Younger users have additional options, including the option to limit profile visibility to other users within two years of their age.
What’s Not Allowed
To keep Whipd safe and appropriate for a 13+ audience, the following are prohibited:
Sexual & Explicit Content
Nudity, sexual content, or sexually suggestive content. Zero tolerance for anything involving minors.
Exploitation & Grooming
Any attempt to exploit, coerce, manipulate, or solicit minors or vulnerable users.
Harassment & Hate
Bullying, threats, hate speech, discriminatory content, or targeted harassment.
Violence & Self-Harm
Graphic violence, encouragement of self-harm, or content promoting dangerous activity.
Illegal Activity
Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity, including weapons or controlled substances.
Scams & Impersonation
Fraud, financial solicitation, impersonation, or attempts to deceive other users.
Reporting & Blocking
Whipd includes in-app safety tools. You can:
- Report a profile, message, or content.
- Block a user instantly to stop contact.
- Remove connections and control who you interact with.
Moderation & Enforcement
We use a combination of automated protections and human review to enforce our rules and respond to reports. This includes review workflows for reported profiles/content and manual review for higher-risk cases.
- Human moderation reviews user reports and takes action when rules are broken.
- Automated safeguards help detect suspicious activity and reduce abuse.
- Verification checks (including selfie/ID checks in certain cases) help prevent impersonation and underage use.
- Device integrity checks may be used to reduce fraud, automated abuse, and ban evasion.
Depending on severity and history, actions may include: content removal, temporary suspension, longer bans, permanent account bans, and device-level restrictions. We may preserve evidence and cooperate with law enforcement where required.
Account Safety Tips
- Don’t share passwords, verification codes, addresses, or financial details.
- Be cautious about moving conversations off-platform too quickly.
- If someone pressures you, asks for explicit content, or makes you uncomfortable: block and report.
- If you are under 18, avoid sharing personal details (school, location, contact handles) publicly.
